I only have a few and they are the very first Che Guevara Posters I made so to say they are important and historic is an understatement. I created this poster before the now world famous iconic black and red Viva Che. VIVA CHE. 1967-68. Silkscreen print. The value of this vintage poster cannot be underestimated. Historically this is the very first Che Guevara published anywhere in the world, including Cuba, where a beautiful full-colour Che poster was, I believe, published by Cuban artist Serrano just a few months later. Both were exhibited side by side for the much-traveled ‘Che. Revolution and Commerce’ exhibition of 2004-2008 that went from UCLA Riverside, Los Angeles, USA to the very top galleries in the UK and Europe. This black and white poster was my first attempt at a definitive Che Guevara remembrance poster and was a photographic paste-up from a 1967 illustration for an Irish magazine which was rejected by the publisher.
