Description BÓANN THE COW GODDESS This depiction of the legendary Bóann (She of the White Cattle) is my first attempt at the subject and shows her as the cow goddess, a symbol of fertility and wealth. It was Bóann who set in train the search for the beautiful girl seen in a vision by her son, the poet warrior, Aongus Óg. This tale inspired W.B.Yeats wonderful poem’ The Dream of Aengus’.
