Hot Cross Bun Gin

HOW WE MAKE HM HOT CROSS BUN GIN Hand crafted to perfection over four stages, Dad and I begin by macerating dates, sultanas and raisins in the base alcohol. This draws the maximum flavour from the dried fruits adding complexity and depth to the gin. We then add all the traditional Hot Cross Bun spices and fresh navel orange to the pot and the botanical basket is filled to the brim with more sultanas, dates and raisins and navel orange for good measure. The distillation run takes 6 hours to complete. We then rest the gin with medium toasted French oak spirals to balance the gin and add organic panela for a hint of sweetness. The palate opens with cinnamon, clove and dried fruit, balanced by a gentle caramelised sweetness. Smooth and warming, with a long, toasty finish that lingers like the last bite of Easter baking.
